1 · Who provides the service
LightsOff is provided by [Legal name], tax ID [Tax ID], with registered address at [address]. Contact: [email].
Installing the app means accepting these terms. If you do not agree with any of them, do not install it.
2 · What the service is
LightsOff does three things in your Shopify shop:
- It generates a night version of your product photos, with the lamp switched on
- It adds a switch to your storefront that crossfades each photo with its own
- It measures how many people use it and whether they buy more in the dark
It does not modify your shop's theme. The switch is an app embed that is turned on and off from Shopify's theme editor.
3 · Who owns the generated images
Yours. The night photos LightsOff generates from your photos are yours, with full rights of use, reproduction and modification, inside and outside your shop.
They are uploaded to the files of your own Shopify account. If you uninstall the app, the images stay: they are not deleted and they do not stop working.
In return, you warrant that you have the right to use the photos you supply as input. If one of your photos infringes a third party's rights, the responsibility is yours and not ours.
We reserve the right to use generated images in LightsOff promotional material only with your express permission, requested in writing and revocable at any time.
4 · Price and billing
The service is billed as a monthly maintenance fee plus a per-unit price for each night photo generated; the current figures are shown in the app before you subscribe. Billing is handled by Shopify Billing: it is charged to your shop's invoice, under its cycles and its rules. You approve a spending cap in Shopify, and nothing is charged above it without a new approval.
Generating a night photo is paid for once: the image is made and lasts forever. Background removal does not consume quota, and a failed generation is not charged.
If we change prices, we will tell you [X] days in advance and the change will apply from the next cycle. You can cancel before it takes effect.
5 · Acceptable use
By using LightsOff you undertake not to:
- Use it to generate illegal or misleading images, or images that infringe third-party rights
- Attempt to access other shops' data or the internal workings of the service
- Resell access, or automate use in order to generate volumes unrelated to your own catalogue
If we detect use of that kind we may suspend the account, telling you and explaining why, unless doing so would compromise other shops.
6 · What we do not promise
Image generation is done by an artificial intelligence model and the result is not always perfect. Some photos may need regenerating. The app lets you do that and points out which ones are worth repeating.
Nor do we promise you will sell more. The app measures what happens in your shop and shows you the numbers, whatever they are.
The service is provided "as is". We do what is reasonable to keep it available, but we do not guarantee it will run without interruption: it depends on Shopify, on the AI provider and on the hosting, none of which we control.
7 · Liability
To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount you have paid for the service in the [X] months preceding the event giving rise to it.
None of this excludes liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence, nor any rights you have as a consumer if you are one.
8 · Cancellation
You can uninstall the app whenever you like from your Shopify admin. There is no minimum term and no penalty. When you uninstall:
- The switch stops appearing in your shop immediately
- Billing stops according to Shopify Billing's rules
- Your night images stay in your files
- Our records are deleted within the period stated in the privacy policy
We may stop providing the service with [X] days notice. If that happens, the proportional part of anything paid in advance is refunded.
9 · Changes to these terms
If they change, the date above is updated. Substantive changes are announced inside the app before they take effect, and continuing to use the service afterwards means accepting them.
10 · Governing law
These terms are governed by [Spanish] law. For any dispute, the parties submit to the courts of [city], unless the law imposes another venue because you are a consumer.
